Whoever does not answer any question takes 2

 A student studying in Russia says:
In Russia, most of the exams have a score out of 5.
If a student does not answer any question and puts his white paper, he takes 2 out of 5...
In my first days at Moscow University, I was not familiar with this system, so I was amazed and asked Dr. Theodore Medrayev, saying:
Is it plausible that he who doesn't answer any question takes 2 why doesn't he take 0? Isn't that the logic?
He answered me, "How can we give a human being 0?"
How do we give him a zero when he was the one who used to get up at 7 in the morning to attend all the lectures?
How do we give him a zero, since he got up in this cold weather, road transportation, arrived at the exam on time, and tried to solve it?
How do we give him a zero when he stays up all night to study and spends his money on pens and notebooks and buys a computer to study with?
How do we give him zero when he gave up his life for the sake of studying?
Here, my son, we do not give a zero just because he did not know the answer. We at least respect that he is a human being and that he has a mind and that he made an effort because the degree is not only the degree of the exam but this degree at the very least respect for his humanity.
